Jen is from Ohio and found yoga in 1994, when a friend suggested she take it for her PE credit in college, and she never looked back. She developed a strong home practice with Rodney Yee VHS tapes, various books, and magazines, since yoga studios weren’t accessible at the time. In 2002, Jen baffled doctors with an unexplained illness and her yoga practice helped her through that troubling time.
Jen moved to Indianapolis in 2003 and practiced at several studios within the community. She decided to deepen her practice in 2008 and completed her 200 hour teacher training and has been teaching to students of all ages and ability levels since. Her goal as a teacher is to create a safe space where students can feel empowered to explore the benefits of practicing yoga, for both the body and the mind.
Outside yoga, Jen loves spending time with her partner, Robert, and her rescue dog, Cora. She is also a RRCA certified running coach. Her passions include running, reading, cupcakes, enjoying a great cup of tea or a nice cold beer, and spending as much time as she can outside. Jen is currently in a 500 hour Advanced Teacher Training course, led by Rolf Gates, to be completed in the fall of 2020.
