Laura Spriggs Thompson, E-RYT500, YACEP, yogini, mother, wife, aerialist-wannabe, health and wellness promoter, and lover of life has been a dedicated practitioner of yoga since 2000 and teacher since 2004. She quickly fell in love with the practice of yoga as she found it physically challenging, fun, and spiritual. It helped her stay centered amid many challenges, including the illness and loss of her first husband to cancer.
Coming from a place of not always making the healthiest life choices in her late teens and early twenties, it was the start of a journey to deeper self-care and self-love that continues to evolve today. Laura shares yoga to help empower her students to find their own strength (inner and outer), balance (on and off the mat), flexibility (of body and mind), and connection to their inner radiance and the sacredness of life. She offers classes that are a pulsation of flow and alignment as well as classes that are more restorative in nature to help reduce stress. Alignment, yoga philosophy and yogic practices are skillfully woven into her classes with creative and progressive sequencing to playfully and intelligently work toward more challenging poses, while honoring each student’s boundaries in a safe environment.
Laura offers a deep bow of gratitude to all her teachers and all the lineages of those that have led the way. Forever a student, she continues to draw inspiration from many teachers, especially Sianna Sherman for yoga and Cate Stillman for Ayurveda. Laura is passionate about bringing the ancient wisdom of yoga and Ayurveda into embodied living practices for deep self-care, ease, energy, and inner and outer wellbeing in her life and her teachings.
Laura remarried and lives in Indianapolis with her husband (Niels), two daughters (Annabella and Hazel), and big, fluffy Great Pyrenees (Luna). She enjoys spending time with family, experimenting with healthy meals, traveling, hiking, fair weather trail running, and aerial silks.
