To truly show up as leaders in our organizations and communities right now, we need to feel grounded. If you think about your favorite tree, its ability to withstand turbulent weather depends upon the health and strength of its roots. The more we can feel grounded, we can live and lead from a place of stability and strength. We can act from a place of intention and love, rather than reaction and fear.
When I look back at the first six months of 2020, this certainly wasn’t what I had envisioned on my vision board for this year. As a society, we have a reached a boiling point and our collective emotions and energy are running are all-time high levels.
We have been quarantined for the past few months and many of us are trying to simultaneously manage our workload while parenting our children at the same time. It’s been a LOT.
The tragic deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor have many of us experiencing grief, outrage and sadness. There is a shifting in consciousness in our culture and an awakening is occurring at both the individual and corporate levels. Many of us are finding our voice for the first time and are learning how to express it.
All of these events have an impact on our physical and emotional energy, our ability to make meaningful connections with others and to understand how we can positively impact the world during these challenging times.
