Spring Renewal: Yin Yoga + Yoga Nidra Workshop with Kristine

Reinvigorate your yoga practice with this Spring Renewal Workshop lead by Kristine. The first part of the practice will be a Yin yoga sequence. Yin Yoga is a slow, mindful practice during which floor-based poses are passively held for 3-5 minutes. The second part of the practice is devoted to a unique style of guided meditation called Yoga Nidra, often translated as 'yogic sleep.' In Yoga Nidra students lie down and are guided through body and breath awareness and visualization techniques. It can be an excellent way to counter stress, still the mind, reset the nervous system and can be effective for relieving insomnia or general exhaustion.

This workshop will introduce you to some of the most basic yoga poses through a sequence designed to lengthen the tight muscles of the back body. We will also work with chest and shoulder openers, quadricep stretches and finally spinal twists.
